  • AC Chair Car (CC): Its fare is Rs. 1245/-. It has a 3×2 seating arrangement. It is a perfect balance of budget and comfort.

  • Executive Chair Car (EC): Its fare is Rs. 2175/- .It has a 2×2 layout and its seats can rotate 180 degrees. You get a little more space and legroom in it.

Patna to Ranchi Vande Bharat Tatkal Quota & Booking Rules

On Patna-Ranchi route, due to heavy rush, Tatkal Quota is the best option for emergency travel:

Tatkal Window Timings: As it has AC classes, Tatkal window opens exactly one day before travel date at 10:00 AM.

Tatkal Charges: For Chair Car, extra charge is approx Rs. 225 and for Executive Chair Car approx Rs. 400 over the regular fare.

Patna Junction (PNBE) Boarding: Train No. 22349 normally departs from Platform No. 8.

Entry Hack: If you have heavy baggage, enter from Karbighiya Side (Back Entry) instead of main side.

Luggage Allowance / Weight Limit

  • Free Allowance Limit: In Vande Bharat, you can carry up to 40 kg of personal luggage free in both AC Chair Car (CC) and Executive Class (EC). Weight limit is same for both classes.

  • Oversize Bag Fine: If bag size is bigger than standard size (55 cm x 45 cm x 22.5 cm for CC and 100 cm x 60 cm x 25 cm for EC), you may have to pay 6 times penalty at scale rate during checking.

    Always place big bags in the modular luggage racks near the gate.

Cancellation & Refund Policy (Specific Rules)

Cancellation rules of Vande Bharat are quite strict:

  • More than 48 Hours Before Departure (Flat Fee): On cancelling a confirmed ticket, a nominal flat fee is charged – Rs. 180 (+ GST) for AC Chair Car (CC) and Rs. 240 (+ GST) for Executive Class (EC) per passenger.

  • Between 48 Hours to 12 Hours: If ticket is cancelled before scheduled departure, 25% of total fare is deducted.

  • Between 12 Hours to 4 Hours (Till Chart Preparation): If cancelled between 12 hours to 4 hours before departure, 50% is deducted.

  • Less than 4 Hours: After chart preparation or less than 4 hours left for departure, no refund is given.
